• When fire water needs to be applied at emergency full-flow,
nothing must interfer (certainly not static debris catching
ribs)
• For fire protection applications only "fool-proof" valves are
appropriate
Therefore, the BERMAD design philosophy for fire protection valves is founded on:
• Easy to execute in-line inspections
• Minimal down-time and quick field service or replacement of
internals to eliminate the need for costly service tear-down
and reassembly.
• Valve seat-bore net area never to be less that valve nominal
diameter and never to have any bottom stem guide or rib to
obstruct full flow
• Deluge system drain valves for dry systems must not be
downstream of the deluge main valve
