Job Description
We are looking for a highly motivated Purchasing Buyer to support BERMAD’s global sourcing efforts from India. The role involves locating new suppliers, maintaining strong supplier relationships, and ensuring cost-effective procurement of goods and materials. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with the HQ Purchasing Department and act as the local sourcing representative of BERMAD in India, supporting the company’s growth and supply chain efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Identify and qualify new suppliers in India across relevant industries.
- Request and compare supplier quotations for quality, price, and delivery terms.
- Negotiate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and contract terms.
- Coordinate with BERMAD HQ buyers and legal consultants to finalize supplier agreements.
- Provide sourcing recommendations and suggest cost-effective procurement solutions.
- Represent the HQ Purchasing Department in India by visiting suppliers and managing communication.
- Assist with resolving supply chain bottlenecks and quality-related issues.
- Maintain accurate supplier records and documentation in ERP systems.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven experience in procurement or sourcing within the Indian industrial market.
- In-depth knowledge of raw materials, casting, machining, and related supply sectors.
- Strong negotiation skills and analytical thinking.
- Experience working with Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
- Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with international teams and departments.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Experience in global sourcing or vendor management is highly desirable.
- Fluency in English and Hindi; additional regional languages a plus.
- Comfortable with travel for supplier visits across India.
