Van duy trì áp suất tối thiểu đã cài đặt trước ở phía thượng lưu, bất kể lưu lượng thay đổi hoặc áp suất phía hạ lưu biến động, đồng thời ngăn không cho áp suất phía hạ lưu vượt quá mức tối đa đã cài đặt trước, bất kể lưu lượng thay đổi hoặc áp suất phía thượng lưu quá cao.
