Van điều khiển bằng thủy lực, điều khiển mực nước và duy trì áp suất, kiểm soát việc cấp nước và mực nước trong bể chứa. Trong quá trình cấp nước, van duy trì áp suất tối thiểu ở phía thượng lưu bất kể lưu lượng hoặc mực nước trong bể thay đổi. Việc cấp nước cho bể được điều khiển bởi tín hiệu từ công tắc phao điện hai mức, mở van khi mực nước xuống đến mức thấp đã cài đặt trước và đóng van khi mực nước đạt đến mức cao đã cài đặt trước.
