Proportional Pressure Reducing Valves

Pump Control Valves protect pumps, pipelines, and other system components through isolation and dynamically disconnecting the pipeline from sudden velocity changes associated with pump start-up and stopping. Abrupt pump stoppage, due to power failure or control/mechanical error, is followed by a pressure drop as the water column keep traveling Should the returning column hits the pump check valve, it creates a high-pressure surge wave that travels at up to 4 Mach. Eliminating such surges requires anticipation and precaution. BERMAD’s Surge Anticipating Valves react to the pressure drop and anticipate the returning column while already open, thereby eliminating the surge.
